We are seeking an experienced Oracle database administrator ("DBA") with the desire to drive the modernization of our Operations team to true DevOps. Working within a global team of DBAs and Infrastructure Developers, you will have particular responsibility for the engineered systems components that runs Oracle databases within our internal private cloud. The DevOps team is responsible for the availability, performance and monitoring of our Oracle Product offerings. And as a leader in this team, you will place particular emphasis on the automation of operational tasks and delivery of self-service functions that empower our customers and streamline their processing. At the same time your traditional operations experience will help ensure that the underlying platform is stable and secure and supporting change at the speed of business.
Primary Responsibilities:
Expertise in oracle database administration of versions through 19c on Linux

Primary Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot incidents, conduct blameless post-incident evaluations and ensure permanent closure of incidents
- Design, develop, test and deliver the software to automate manual operational work and ensure application performance and resiliency
- Engage with development teams to help create software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes
- Contribute to strategy of a best in class monitoring frameworks to accomplish end to end flow monitoring and noiseless alerting
- Be part of the 24x7 support coverage
- Coach or manage teams as applicable
Expertise in oracle database administration of versions through 19c on Linux
- SQL and system performance & tuning
- Backup and restore
- Dataguard and replication technologies
- Installation, patching and upgrades
- Including operating system and storage admin tasks ("Database Machine Admin")
- Host level patching and upgrades
- Database build and patching
- Monitoring setup and reporting tools
- Backup and restore management
- Able to drive to root cause
- Design and implement automation for problem remediation or prevention
