Job Summary
The Senior Cloud Architect is responsible for leading the creation of a technology framework and providing technical leadership in support of H3's initiatives in cloud computing and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms. This role is responsible for the roadmap, prioritization, development, and implementation of key DevSecOps initiatives in a fast paced, agile environment. This hands-on role is responsible for the launch and continuous improvement of new and existing Azure DevOps product features and services, leading to the successful implementation across different verticals, as well as several 'in progress' projects. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability, performance, and disaster recovery.
This role requires an in-depth knowledge of DevSecOps practice and an understanding of Azure DevOps services as well as proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines. Engages across Enterprise and business organizational areas to understand strategies, objectives and requirements to anticipate current and future needs to facilitate their successful outcomes. Drives the cultural adoption of agile principles and values to implement a creative, strong business and technical vision.

Job Responsibilities
- Primary focus is on driving the strategic product delivery process, including removing impediments that kill productivity or block the team's progress. Defines and sets best practices for planning/tracking, code management, build, deploy and release across multiple teams/products in CI/CD model on Azure DevOps.
- Supports day-to-day activities such as helping application teams in platform related build issues, keeping the healthy state of software delivery tools and platforms.
- Demonstrates knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, scalability). Demonstrates knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes. Demonstrates leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why,” and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation
- Develops a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the H3's application portfolio needs. Develops solutions architecture and evaluates architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services
- Contributes to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks
- Defines optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability, performance, and disaster recovery for applications
- Creates and maintains effective DevSecOps process automation.
- Plans and oversees new ADO feature development and introduction
- Develops and monitors metrics to determine the success criteria for business outcomes.
- Drives scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment. Ensures delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements
- Provides technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners
- Ensures delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk
- Provides support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations
- Promotes continuous improvement and protect culture of innovation. (add to Consultation)
- Provides guidance to the product teams to deliver high-quality products in committed timeframes.
- Coordinates with other delivery leads, engineering, and product owners to identify and manage cross-team dependencies and introduce DevSecOps process improvements across the board.
- Demonstrates forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts
- Advocates and defines cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems
- Performs as the coach and mentor to team members and technical staff on their assigned project tasks. Develops a cohesive team and ensure their continued success. Leads the definition and development of cloud reference architecture and management systems
- Conducts product work reviews with team members. Maintains overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.

External Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree + at least 6 years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management and/or operations OR High School/GED + at least 9 years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management and/or operations
- Experience working with development, operations, and non-technical groups to facilitate teamwork, respect, and continuous performance improvement.
- Experience bringing more than one group together to facilitate prioritization of needs and drive those priorities in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Experience solving technical issues
- Experience with Azure implementations
- Knowledge of multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
- Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
- At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 3 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information technology, Engineering, Science, or Math.
- At least 10+ years of experience in a technical engineering role, such as software development, release management, deployment engineering, site operations, technical operations or similar.
- Experience as a team lead
- Knowledge of all components of technical architecture
- Knowledge of network architecture and application development methodologies while working in an agile environment
- Experience with Agile methodology and working in and/or building a DevOps culture.
- Experience with multiple programming languages.
- Experience in technology infrastructure, such as Network, Monitoring, Systems, Databases, etc.
- Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community and with vendors.
- Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Experience working effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
- Experience operating effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
