Job Description

We are currently searching for a talented and experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help support our growing e-commerce business and scale our services to meet business needs. In this senior position, you’ll work in close collaboration with a variety of teams—including the Infrastructure, DevOps, Security and Development groups—to ensure our systems are always available and performing at their best. The successful candidate will have a high degree of technical expertise and be comfortable working with all levels of the stack, from OS to the front end.

Your day at Lakeshore looks like this:
  • Clearly communicating the scope and impact of any incidents to teammates and stakeholders; following through to the successful resolution/closure of incidents as necessary
  • Developing tools and playbooks to resolve production issues more quickly and efficiently
  • Debugging production issues across services and levels of the stack
  • Participating in service capacity planning, load testing, performance analysis and system tuning
  • Designing and developing real-time monitoring and alerting solutions that provide clarity into application health and performance
  • Understanding the architecture of our applications and services, ensuring we have all the necessary pieces in place (for monitoring, alerting, etc.) and collaborating with other technical stakeholders to implement any pieces that are lacking
  • Continually looking to improve our performance, stability, tooling, processes, etc.
  • Developing effective documentation for any processes and tools that are implemented so that others may use them
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a large-scale and/or critical production e-commerce environment
  • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience or experience supporting/maintaining software systems (Java and/or C++ services)
  • 3+ years of experience with building automation into daily operational processes through one or more programming languages
  • Solid programming experience with at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Java or Python
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience working with highly available Java application servers (JBoss, WildFly, WebLogic)
  • Proficiency with F5 load balancers and experience using iRules to solve interesting challenges
  • Experience supporting Oracle Commerce and Endeca application stacks is a plus
  • Deep knowledge of networking, operation system, database system and container technology
  • Good understanding of every aspect of microservice architecture and hands-on experience troubleshooting in large-scale distributed systems
  • Hands-on experience with systems such as Linux, Oracle DB, Prometheus and Grafana
  • Experience building solutions with AWS, Google, Azure and other Cloud services is a plus
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure while meeting project deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
