About this team
lululemon's Product Systems team is part of the Technology department. This team is responsible for systems that support the product design, development, quality, sourcing, production, purchasing, and supply planning, and costing processes. This role is on the Costing Team which is focused on the algorithms created to decide what price to charge for our products. We work closely with internal business teams, external product vendors and technology teams to support, enhance and mature technology solutions in support of our business goals.
A day in the life:
The Senior Software Engineer role will assist in developing high-performing, well-tested and thoughtfully architected software applications that satisfy our internal business needs and power guest experiences.
· Leads end-to-end engineering for projects and problems of complex scope and impact within practice.
· Manages cross team software dependencies within discipline as it pertains to deliverable.
· Collaborates with all disciplines to ensure problem and recommend solution is understood.
· Delivers software that meet architectural and operational requirements and perform to expectations.
· Uses algorithms, data structures, programming languages, programming paradigms to create, test and operate sustainable client-side or server-side software applications and services.
· Builds and extends software applications in varying (cloud, hybrid cloud, and on-premise) environments.
· Draw on your extensive skills and experience to support and build API's and Web services.
· Proficient in producing robust application design and producing patterns to ensure applications are resilient and scalable.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.
· 7+ years of software engineering experience.
· Excellent team player, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Experience in mentoring junior developers and providing technical leadership.
· Excellent pull request review skills and attention to detail.
· Strong technical, hands-on, experience to support development, automated testing, infrastructure and operations.
· Strong working experience in design and development of RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
· Front end framework experience using React or Angular.
· Familiarity with streaming platforms (real-time data at massive scale like Confluent Kafka).
· Experience with AWS cloud and implementations from a developer's perspective.
· Experience working with containers, Docker, Kubernetes or other container schedulers.
· Fluency with relational databases or alternatively NoSQL databases.
· Understanding of DevOps as well as experience with CI/CD pipelines.
· Familiar with the project tools: Jira, Confluence, Slack, MS Office, SharePoint, Smartsheet.
· Experience in other programming languages like JavaScript/TypeScript or Python is an asset.
