Job Description
1. At least seven years experience and proven performance in software engineering, including problem analysis and resolution, requirements analysis and definition, design, code, and integration testing. Proven ability to take responsibility for significant tasks, complete them on schedule and document and present the results. 2. Proven knowledge and experience applying design patterns and object oriented programming. 3. Significant experience in Java J2SE/J2EE and/or C++. 4. Significant experience with Database technologies such as Oracle, MariaDB, MySQL or Firebird. 5. Proficiency in most of the following specific areas: J2EE Development, XML, Microservices Architectures, Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes/Openshift), SpringBoot, as well as knowledge of distributed computer architectures and Web-based architectures. 6. Experience with Eclipse or NetBeans IDEs. 7. Experience with Apache/Tomcat, Glassfish and/or JBoss Application Server. 8. Ability and willingness to thoroughly document work for peer reviews and to prepare and present design disclosure and status review data to peers and immediate manager 9. Ability and willingness to learn and stay current with technology advancements. 10. Ability and willingness to thoroughly document systems, configurations, overall designs, and procedures 11. Ability and willingness to design perform and review application unit and scalability tests. Proven ability to tune a system for peak performance. 12. Effective written and verbal communications skills 13. Ability to function in a team environment, work cooperatively with peers, and take direction from seniors 14. Ability to independently troubleshoot and solve problems 15. Requires a Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one in a minimal time frame.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering/technical degree with a concentration in computer science courses.
Proven proficiency in Java and/or C++ programming languages.
Proven proficiency with SpringBoot and REST
Proven Proficiency developing microservices and the strangler pattern
Experience with either Eclipse or NetBeans IDEs.
Experience with development in Linux/Windows/Unix
Experience with Virtual Machines
Experience with Cloud Platform providers (Amazon Web Services, Azure)
Experience with Containerization and Orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes/Openshift)
Experience with Agile Software Development
Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
Experience with UML 2.0.
Experience with Agile Software Development
Demonstrated interest and ability to learn new tools and technologies and successfully apply them in completing projects in a timely manner.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to obtain & maintain a secret security clearance.
Desired skills
Software development using C#, JSF, JSON or JQuery
Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Crucible, Confluence) or Gitlab
