Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is seeking an Senior Software Engineer - DevSecOps Lead (Virtual) based out of Berkeley, Missouri.

This position will be a leadership role on a team that develops simulation software that integrates with test assets (desktop and real hardware). This simulation supports many different platforms (F-15, F/A-18, T-7A, MQ-25, 737, 777X, and others).

The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of Agile software development methodologies, strong software development skills, and the ability to coach/mentor the organization with DevOps best practices, automation, continuous integration and delivery.

The candidate should enjoy working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-program environment. They will support the development of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. They should be adaptable to new development environments and eager to work with and learn new technologies

Position Responsibilities:

Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.

Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities.

Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics.

Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects.

Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.

Works under minimal direction.

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in Berkeley, Missouri.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

4+ years of experience in software programming in Python, C++, C#, .NET coding, debug, and development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience with tools for Continuous Integration/Delivery, Version Control, and Build Automation

Experience with GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bamboo, Nexus, Artifactory, Git, Docker Experience with Cloud Computing technologies, e.g. Azure, AWS, VMs, containers, orchestration, Kubernetes

Ability to work independently or as part as a team

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Decision making abilities to complete efforts with minimal requirements definition

Experience in software development in Visual Studio

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
