Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis once our new Charlotte Technical Center in Concord, North Carolina opens in the spring of 2022. Prior to that, the position will allow for Work from Home or GM Key Partner team.

We are looking for analytical and innovative individuals to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer to advance the engineering products in the GM NASCAR program! In this position you will work with diverse teams and end users to ensure that the race teams can rely on GM provided tools to improve the performance of their race cars and optimize the execution of race events. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technology to implement and improve scalability and performance of the software tools!

Role Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the full lifecycle of software application development, including planning, design, implementation, integration, quality assurance and maintenance.
  • Write code that is efficient, reusable, and reliable, and technical specifications based on conceptual designs and business requirements.
  • Proactively contribute with debugging, code-reviews, troubleshooting, identifying bugs and solutions to address and mitigate them.
  • Work closely with others to perform software architecture assessments and prepare documentation on key aspects to collect all requirements and implement them accurately.
Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a relevant Engineering degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience for both front end and back end environments
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing applications in C#, .NET, Angular/React, Javascript, HTML and CSS
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and current best coding practices
  • Experience consuming and implementing REST APIs (ASP.NET Web APIs)
  • Experience with real time communication technologies
  • Experience with Unit Tests
  • Experience with SQL databases and NoSQL databases
  • Experience using Git for version control, DevOps (ideal Azure Dev Ops) and CI/CD practices for agile environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree
  • 5 years of experience developing applications in C#, .NET, Angular/React, Javascript, HTML and CSS
  • Experience working with another NASCAR teams, or from other motorsports series
  • Experience developing Client Apps (WPF, MVVM)
  • Experience with Azure Cloud Computing and Storage
  • Experience with real time communication technologies (SignalR or gRPC)
  • Experience with Unit Tests (NUnit, xUnit or Moq)
  • Experience with SQL databases (SQL Server or PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB or Cassandra)
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with Dockers
