About the Role We are building for observability and making advanced integrations to allow our customers to dive deep into their data. Understanding our end-users, their behaviour and needs is the absolute key to us. We�ve taken off on an exciting journey, and are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer. Humio is changing the way engineering and operations teams manage complex systems by improving the way they interact and manage logging. We are searching for a Site Reliability Engineer to help deliver the highest quality logging software as a service to Humio�s customers. Our site reliability engineers work closely with all of our engineering teams to ensure both the availability and high performance our customers expect. In this role, the engineer will be working on developing and refining our monitoring and metrics to better understand our cloud�s performance and how it impacts the quality of our customer�s experience. Your responsibilities
- Develop service level indicators and service level objectives to ensure the availability and performance of Humio�s cloud based offerings
- Work with other engineering groups to develop metrics that provide greater insight into our cloud�s performance
- Troubleshoot and mediate customer related performance concerns
- Support and maintain our growing cloud deployments
- Assist in the design of Humio�s global cloud architecture
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation supporting Humio�s cloud infrastructure
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Ability to convey potentially complex technical information in a clear and personable fashion
- Production level experience supporting large scale stateful distributed systems in the cloud
- Experience in the automation of systems to reduce operational toil
- Development experience with at least one of the following: shell scripting (e.g. Bash), Go, Java, Ruby, Python, Scala, or similar
- Knowledge of how SLIs and SLOs can ensure availability and performance
- Working understanding of cloud-based networking concerns such as load balancers and VPCs on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Thorough understanding of using containers and related technology (e.g. Docker) and orchestrating them (ECS, Kubernetes, Nomad)
- Have used current CI / CD solutions to deploy infrastructure using GitOps approaches
