The candidate will be responsible for performing DevOps activities across multiple Cloud Service Providers in seven global regions. Candidate will establish configuration management, automate infrastructure, implement continuous integration, and apply DevOps best practices to achieve a continuously deployable system. Candidate will support building scalable, highly available, efficient, and secure cloud infrastructure for a medical device SaaS. Candidate will implement monitoring for automated system health checks and support operations.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering expertise to plan, analyze, design, test, and deploy secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure expressed as code.
Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
Develop documentation including Installation and Configuration Guides, design and engineering plans, process and procedures documents for operational support, lessons learned, diagrams, systems administration guidelines, systems set-up documentation, hardware integration test plans and results.
Developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure in accordance with best practices.
Optimize existing development and release processes through automation
Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix, and document problems, and implement preventive measures
Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for Cloud solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance
Evaluation of new technology alternatives and implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity
Ensure availability, performance, security, and scalability of Cloud production systems.
Monitor metrics and KPIs and applies learnings to future infrastructure initiatives
Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
Work collaboratively with InfoSec to ensure that infrastructure is safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
Administer and troubleshoot Linux based virtual instances
Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization
Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of Cloud infrastructure and systems
Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production system.
Management of creation, release, and configuration of production systems.
System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.
Oversee, automate, and perform code deployments in all environments
Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards adhering to Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks.
Designing, maintenance and management of tools for automation of different operational processes.
Provides direct and responsive support for urgent analytic needs.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant technical fields.
At least 2-4 years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CodeDeploy, CloudFront, S3).
At least 1-3 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code utilizing tools like: Ansible, Terraform, Packer.
At least 1-3 years of experience with Docker Containers and direct experience with container orchestration services such as Docker Swarm, ECS, and Kubernetes.
Experience with CI/CD: GitLab, Jenkins, CodeBuild, and Git.
Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with Terraform.
Scripting experience (Shell, Python).
Ability to work in a matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements.
Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the code utilized to deploy and manage the infrastructure.
Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools.
Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas.
Strong foundation of networking and Linux administration.
Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools.
Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations.
Experience in code development in at least one high-level programming language.
Experience in creation of highly automated infrastructures.
Comprehensive knowledge regarding contemporary processes and methodologies for development and operations.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous exposure to medical device, biomedical or high technology industry.
Software development experience, ideally in Go, and a willingness to learn new software development languages to meet goals and objectives.
Experience working in an agile environment.
Experience with Elastic and Kibana.
