This person works closely with the entire Product Engineering team to develop a bird's eye view of the entire product ecosystem to design and build the automated test framework. The ideal candidate will bring both technical chops and leadership skills, with a desire to build a culture of quality excellence through automation.
Primary Job Duties:
- Work across all Product Engineering Scrum teams to understand requirements and business use cases for our full product suite and leverage that knowledge in test and framework management.
- Improve and maintain our existing automated test suite, develop metrics, efficient test paths, test ranking, and repeatable and measurable process improvements.
- Take a leadership role across all Scrum teams to improve our integrated testing capabilities.
- Act as a leader and mentor for the QA team for test automation
- Work with DevOps Team on CI/CD and champion best practices for test automation
- Manage testing framework to include:
- Test environments across product suite
- Building and maintaining test data
- Managing the data refresh process with integration partners
- Configuring tools and systems for specific test needs
- Coordinating the installation, maintenance, and configuration of testing tools
- Work with DevOps, Engineers, and leadership to develop a path towards future improvements with the aim of building an ideal testing framework for our cloud-based environment and expanding testing capabilities in load and performance testing
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Automated testing experience for web and mobile applications
- Strong experience with an enterprise-class test management tool
- Experience testing all layers of a web application, including front-end, service layer, back-end, and integration points (e.g., APIs)
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining modern testing frameworks
- Experience with performance, load and/or security testing.
- Experience managing large test datasets
- Advanced problem-solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable with command line functions
- Selenium experience
- Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Ruby)
- Working knowledge of relational databases and proficiency writing SQL queries
- Must have access to private, quiet workspace with high-speed internet to effectively work remotely
- Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations
Preferred additional background and skills:
- Experience with Capybara and RSpec
- Experience with more than one type of testing framework
- Healthcare IT industry experience, especially in electronic health records and related systems
- Experience with modern cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, Azure
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience working in a fast-growing organization
- Working knowledge of JIRA/Jira Xray
