This software engineering role is responsible for developing and operating a global edge network and PAAS layer for our Security Solutions offerings, DNS, Registry and Web Performance. The edge network operates out of 30+ global locations and is administered through automations in the PAAS. Engineers on the team have full end-to-end ownership of the edge network, including development and maintenance of the PAAS, as well as infrastructure and circuit support for the edge network.

- Develop/Enhance/Automate/Support/Maintain the PAAS layer and software (Ruby, Perl, Python etc), design, test, and collaborate to get that software into production
- Automate everything - build (Jenkins), test and deploy (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform)
- Measure health and performance of the services you help build
- Get involved in end-to-end ownership from requirements to production support. This includes building and documenting appropriate monitoring, alerting and run books to allow for detection, response and resolution
- Continuously learn new concepts and technologies and share with your team and the greater Neustar community
- Leverage and contribute to Neustar's evolving shared infrastructure
- Make things better every day
- 8+ years experience developing/operating mission critical platforms
- Four-year degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
- In-depth knowledge of datacenter platform services
- Programming experience with automated deployments
- Experience with AWS
- Strong analytical skills with working experience troubleshooting hardware, operating system and application issues.
- Understanding of DNS protocol and Networking
- Some experience with troubleshooting network issues
- Required skills:
- Programming skills using Ruby/Perl/Python etc
- Source control, build automation, testing, deployment (GIT/Jenkins/Puppet/Ansible/Terraform etc)
