As a solutions engineer at Seaplane, you are responsible for designing and building custom solutions using Seaplane technology that fit customer needs and solve their problems.
An average day consists of calls with customers to understand their specific problem, help design a re-architecture using Seaplane technology, advise customers how to build solutions on top of Seaplane, and build custom integrations between Seaplane and the customer’s technology.
You have a good understanding of systems design (minimum 2 years of experience), including but not limited to service design, APIs, database, data storage, data models, cloud architecture, scaling, DNS, and Anycast Routing. You know how to use those and other engineering skills to bring projects to completion successfully. Besides engineering skills, you have a healthy appetite for customer interaction and enjoy talking with other engineers to help them uncover and solve their problems.
The Seaplane team is still small but looking to grow rapidly. Due to our size, team members often wear many hats and perform roles beyond the regular scope of their job title. During the first six months, you will perform both a solutions engineering role and a sales engineering role. At first, your role will be 70% sales and 30% engineering. As we get closer to the end of the first six months, those numbers will flip.
