About the Role:
We are looking for a new team member to help us support CrowdStrike’s largest Splunk cluster. This peta-scale cluster is used 24/7/365 to identify adversaries and STOP BREACHES! The bulk of the environment uses Splunk, while we are transitioning some new workloads to Humio. As a team member you will share responsibility for all the care and feeding of this cluster, including but not limited to:
Perform changes to allow for continued scaling
Build, maintain, and expand Splunk and Humio clusters.
Increase the effectiveness of the monitoring solution to proactively address issues
Identify and resolve performance issues
Write automation to continually reduce the operational load within the team

What You'll Need:
Solid knowledge of Splunk operation and maintenance

Good knowledge of Splunk data ingestion, field extraction, and ingestion processing
Ability to read and write Python scripts
Firm grasp of Linux system administration fundamentals
Experience using Chef for automation
Basic competency with networking
Bonus Points:
You have automated yourself out of your current or past jobs
Understanding of storage systems
Splunk certifications
Proven Git development work
