Sr Cloud Engineer - Remote - $150k
The Sr. Cloud Engineer is a key member contributor to this company's Cloud Platform Engineering Team that collaborates with application engineers, developers, cloud engineers, security and other roles that are part of the product lifecycle to plan, design, and implement automation scripts in support of emergent DevOps and Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CICD) pipelines.
This role uses your abilities in cloud scripting and development, automation, and leverages Azure DevOps tools and services to drive the delivery of the company's next generation Microsoft Azure based products. The Sr. Cloud Engineer also implements automated solutions in support of migration of existing products and platforms to Azure. The role provides guidance and assistance to junior staff members to evolve and mature their scripting and automation skills.

Minimum Qualifications •Minimum 4 years' experience in one or more of the following scripting languages: Python, Yaml, Ruby, Powershell •Training and certification in Azure Fundamentals and Azure Administrator or Azure Developer. •7+ years of technology experience •3 + years of Azure Cloud-based system administration (or equivalent) with focus on automation and scripting. •Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math or equivalent technical degree. Responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge working with Azure DevOps, Repos and Pipelines
- Primary contributor for developing scripts for automating the build, configuration and implementation of Azure IaC, PaaS and related solutions
- Primary contributor for developing scripts for automating the build and deployment of application code
- Primary contributor for developing scripts for automated unit testing
- Lead library & package updates via automation
- Deliver reusable templates cloud foundational components like databases, logic apps, application gateways, compute, network, storage, backup, high availability, disaster recovery, etc.
- Manage and support the automation scripts and related scripts across the full product lifecycle in support of ITIL practices.
- Ensure that all cloud solutions follow architecture, security, compliance controls, and conformance to the company's standards.
- Formulate and defines technical scope and objectives for cloud services management, non-functional requirements, disaster recovery, and security.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture, Data Science, and Systems Development teams regarding solution delivery on cloud solutions.
- Participates in Agile activities (e.g. Sprint planning, estimation) and ceremonies (e.g. demos)
- Main contributor to the automation framework for cloud solutions.
- Lead the library & package updates
- Delivery of cloud foundational components like databases, logic apps, application gateways, compute, network, storage, backup, disaster recovery, etc.
- Delivery of cloud solutions across Azure for PaaS and IaaS services.
- Recognized as the subject matter expertise, technical analysis, and consultation on the design and implementation of all cloud services and technologies, including best practices.
- Formulates and defines technical scope and objectives for cloud services management, non-functional requirements, disaster recovery, and security.
- Provides innovative technical guidance and direction to all levels within cloud engineering services.
- Leads junior staff in cloud engineering and support activities
- Investigates and recommends new cloud solutions needed for new projects, improving cloud services maturity and increasing cloud adoption.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Stays abreast of new Azure and cloud technologies that may be adopted to improve performance, reliability and stability of solutions running in Azure.
- Complete training programs in leadership, Azure technologies and cloud technologies that are aligned with the company's technology and architectural strategies.
