Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr Cloud Engineer to implement, maintain, manage, troubleshoot, and optimize functional and secure Azure and AWS cloud environments. The position will be responsible for supporting all on-premise and Azure infrastructure for both Corporate users and our Franchise operations within the continental U.S. This is a hands-on operational position requiring L3 technical knowledge and expertise within cloud services and virtualization. The position responsibilities require the ability to establish, test, evaluate, and maintain multi-tiered environments, as well as skills to conduct independent analysis, interpersonal communications and problem solving.

The Senior Cloud Engineer will also lead and process the prioritization, assignment, and resolution of infrastructure-related incidents and service requests, asset discovery, configuration management, software image management and distribution, monitoring, and operational automation. This position will work collaboratively with all IT and business stakeholders, service providers, and other third parties, to perform the tasks and communicate effectively to support infrastructure activities. The service management processes are implemented utilizing the ServiceNow platform.
This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise for all cloud services, including but not limited to Microsoft Azure, VMWare, and AWS.
  • Develop, document, and validate policies, processes and/or procedures relating to a variety of cloud services and standards.
  • Analyze systems performance to identify potential opportunities for improvement in areas such as the virtualized environments, hardware infrastructure, backup and archive systems, data storage environment, and cloud environment systems and services.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve instance, software, network, and other service-related cloud issues.
  • Apply technical knowledge to be a trusted resource for all areas of the company and Franchisees on deployments of applications, security tools and solutions.
  • Assist in the design, installation, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of the client disaster recovery processes.
  • Work along-side IT security analyst and other IT staff to properly setup and maintain cloud applications free of risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on cloud automation and security.
  • Work with third party cloud vendors to obtain security assessments through software monitoring tools to reduce risk and vulnerabilities to the client
  • Create and maintain complete technical and operational documentation.
  • Suggest improvements to performance, capacity, availability, and scalability
  • Ensures that activities within the Incident and Service Request processes are being performed at a high level of quality and that it meets its associated Service Level Agreements
  • Able to triage and identify ambiguous incident or request for immediate coordination and resolution Identifies Incidents for review and participates in related Root Cause Analyses for Critical and High (e.g., P1/P2) Incidents.
  • Creates Service Desk Knowledge Articles with repeatable procedures, with a goal of reducing the number of Incidents affecting cloud infrastructure.
  • Keeps current with supported GSI installed base, and emerging technology and cloud trends Performs cloud-related IT Operations system administration tasks as assigned and authorized Manages an IT Asset Management process and inventory for all applicable infrastructure Cis.
  • Manage the infrastructure monitoring and alert functions
  • Install operating system software, patches, and upgrades within cloud environments. Work with IT leadership to design new cloud infrastructure plans and services.
Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 4-5 hands-on relevant experience on Azure, VMWare Troubleshooting, problem-solving techniques and repair techniques involving IT environments.
  • Hands-on experience with: Administrating and managing Azure services – servers, storage, DB, Data Factory, IPaaS integrations, DevOps connectors, APIs, NSGs, Marketplace solutions, etc.
  • Azure Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services, and LDAP. Microsoft Office 365 administration and support VMWare Virtual infrastructure Azure Cost Management Windows 10, MS SQL DB, and PowerBI Ability to:Quickly and efficiently, identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of cloud server vetting and patching. Identify risks, vulnerabilities and remediate immediately to reduce exposure.
  • Plan, organize and prioritize work with a minimal amount of supervision Establish and maintain working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Coordinate with multiple 3rd party cloud vendors and develop solutions for potential risks.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience using ServiceNow; specifically, the Incident, Service Request, Change, Problem, CMDB and Reporting Management modules, workflows and functionality required Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools Sharp troubleshooting and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently Excellent customer service ability in IT domain Excellent interpersonal communications skills in working with external and internal users that are experiencing issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge of required collaboration, communication, coordination, and prioritization of incidents and requests from external and internal users, and offsite service providers
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities to achieve deliverables that meet or exceed SLA’s Ability to manage service providers, interpreting and analyzing delivery performance, contracts, and statements of work
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint required Experience with IT CMDB and Asset management processes, procedures, and inventory tools
