Job Description
Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to be member of an Infrastructure Automation Team who will be responsible for: deploying and integrating scripts and recipes to automate system configurations and COTS products into complex server environments. These environments, a heterogeneous mix of servers, workstations, and custom hardware, provide the backbone for the operational system of a critical, strategic national asset. The environments also support product development, testing, and maintenance. The ideal candidate would be responsible for implementation of automation recipes (Ansible/CHEF) and scripts (Ruby, PowerShell, Python) as part of an automated installation/deployment process. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have an engineering background and mindset, and be able to troubleshoot complex problems as they arise. This position may require some limited overtime as needed.
Security Clearance: US citizenship and a current active TS/SCI security clearance.
Specialized skills needed to support this role:
A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) with emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology and 5 years of relatable experience. A high school diploma and 8 years of related work experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.

- Solid experience with automation tools such as:
- Ansible (preferred)
- Terraform (preferred)
- CHEF
- Puppet
- SaltStack/Fabric or similar products for O/S builds
- software installation and configuration management
- Background in Systems Operations environment supporting complex environment deployment and management activities.
- Possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Cert (e.g. Security+), or able to obtain the cert within 30 days.
- US citizenship and a current active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Strong Linux System administration experience at the command line.
- Strong scripting skills (i.e. PowerShell, Python, Ruby, bash, etc.).
- Deployment of Automation utilizing the listed “specialized skills”.
- Five (5) + years of relevant Infrastructure experience related to system deployment and installation.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization tools and cloud computing, either private (VMware, OpenStack) or public (AWS) Systems integration experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex configuration problems or system issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both written and oral.
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code and demonstrated implementation.
- Understanding of DevOps concepts.
- Understanding Agile development methodologies.
- Understanding of system security hardening.
- Understanding of LDAP.
- Understanding of Change Management processes - Version Control of software and code - GIT, CVS.
