Position Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced and technology-oriented leader to take on the role of Sr Manager, Product Development. This is a leadership position in the Wealth Management Platform Product Engineering team that will be responsible to drive innovation and deliver our highest priority strategic initiatives within the Wealth Management organization. This individual will lead a programme and team that will support the delivery to modernize our back-office applications.

This role requires working closely with product management and design to define requirements and leading the development team from concept through delivery and subsequent operation. This position involves regular communication with senior management on technical development, product strategy, status, and risks. The ideal candidate has experience through multiple complete consumer product or service development cycles, possesses superior analytical abilities and product judgment. Key to success in this position is an equal passion for delivering new features as well as operating the current applications at the highest level of quality, ensuring that our customers have a world-class experience.

Education & Prior Experience Needed
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership in technology development experience - primarily back and middle office technologies and platforms
  • Four-year Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Experience managing the development and lifecycle of APIs
  • A consistent track record of delivering projects on time, with quality, accurately and within budget
  • Direct management of cross functional, sourced, or matrixed teams; experience with and significant knowledge of IT outsourcing activities in a managed services environment
  • Demonstrated success leading medium- to large-scale initiatives
  • Proven experience in IT development across waterfall and agile environments, DevOps methodologies, tools and measurement practices
  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action
  • Comfortable communicating at all levels internally and externally in an organization
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving and agile technology environment
  • Ability to translate short and long-range strategic plans from product roadmaps into design and implementation of current and future applications and systems
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of IT Total Cost of Ownership
  • Ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships, effective controls and monitoring processes
Preferred Experience
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or strongly related discipline
  • Prior work experience in Wealth Management or Brokerage operational technologies, platform modernization and developing web services
