Collins Aerospace is seeking a Systems Integration & Test Lead - Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Richardson, TX, and will be part of the Integrated Mission Platform Systems department. This position requires expertise in the DoD-based Airborne Mission Systems platforms. The SEIT Lead will oversee a diverse team of systems, software, and integration & verification (I&V) engineers in this software development effort.
Primary responsibilities:
The IPT Lead reports programmatically to the Program Engineer and interfaces with the Chief Engineer
Also, extensive knowledge of C3 missions with experience in the following areas:
Technical oversight of the design, development, testing, qualification, and deployment of the software demonstration
Management of the engineering cost and schedule which includes Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and maintenance in conjunction with program planners and cost account management (CAM) using Earned Value Management (EVMS) techniques
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and developing the test procedures/test cases for:
Mission Computing
Communications
Networking
Cybersecurity
Mission processing, networking, security enclave separation, and cross-domain solution technologies
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR
In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
Expertise in the DoD-based Airborne Mission Systems platforms
Knowledge of the
Architecture/system impacts on mission operations
Fielding and operational concerns of communications
RF SubSystems
Experience with Agile or DevOps development methodology
Experience with software development, installation, and integration activities
Experience in integration, and/or verification and validation
Knowledge of full lifecycle design and development processes with experience in multiple phases of the system life cycle: requirements, design, development, integration, validation/verification, sustainment, and decommissioning or retirement of the system
Ability to think out of the box and solve problems in new innovative ways.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have an active US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Ability to travel for about 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
Active US DoD Top Secret Clearance
Experience with existing Mission System solutions for C-130, E-6B, E-4B platforms
Knowledge of simulation tools to support trade-off analysis
Working knowledge of bidding and project/task estimation tools (e.g. SEER products)
Demonstrated leadership of a team in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) organizational structure
Deep understanding of Networking technologies, Cybersecurity, MILS
Ability to manage multiple tasks while balancing priorities and schedules from program management leadership
Experience and proficiency with project performance measurement, tracking methods, and tools
Able to investigate problems to the root cause and then champion the creation and implementation of corrective actions
