Moody's ESG Solutions Group (MESGS) is a business unit of Moody's Corporation serving the growing global demand for ESG and climate insights. The group leverages Moody's data and expertise across ESG, climate risk, and sustainable finance, and aligns with Moody's Investors Service (MIS) and Moody's Analytics (MA) to deliver a comprehensive, integrated suite of ESG and climate risk solutions including ESG scores, analytics, Sustainability Ratings and Sustainable Finance Reviewer/certifier services. It houses V.E and 427, both affiliates of Moody's.

Objective:
The Sr. DevOps Engineer will be part of a team of DevOps professionals building and working on enterprise grade CI/CD pipelines. This is a hands-on technical position responsible for assisting with the design and implementations of automation to continuously improve the delivery of our software products, as well as evangelize CI/CD program principles, tools, and processes. With guidance from the DevOps Engineer Lead, acts as a consultative partner with Engineering, Development and Business teams on all things DevOps. Must have a passion for improving process, eliminating waste in workflows and enjoy the technical challenges in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

The Sr. DevOps Engineer's role is to:

At a team level, work to ensure that developers are not doing repetitive tasks and that the infrastructure is kept up to date as the stack evolves.
As processes change and the company grows, the Sr. DevOps Engineer automates as much as possible to accelerate work.

This role requires a talented engineer who is versatile and creative, to be an integral part of a small tight team that will build out the next generation of ESG software solutions offered by Moody's. The Role / Responsibilities:
  • Follow DevOps best practices and concepts
  • Automate the overall software delivery workflow
  • Standardize, develop and maintain common development tools and infrastructure, such as CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, cluster management, config management, etc.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by following the broader industry, attending training sessions and educational workshops
  • Assist the team in achieving established goals and departmental objectives
  • Contribute to roadmap development, execution, and releases
  • Work with other engineering teams to identify and implement infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, automation, etc. improvements
  • Be part of an Agile team, participate in all Agile ceremonies & activities and be accountable for the sprint deliverable

Qualifications
  • Candidates are expected to demonstrate experience in each of the above responsibilities and focus areas, with the following specific qualifications:
  • 2 - 4 years experience delivering CI/CD pipelines with QA Automation and Monitoring
  • 4+ years experience with web, and API development practices
  • The ability to fluently read and write code in multiple different languages such as Java, .NET, Python, Etc.
  • Experience with technologies such as JSON, XML and Web APIs
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Demonstrated experience deploying automation solutions in a public cloud environment such as AWS
  • Strong SQL skills (NoSQL experience is a plus)
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • A passion for innovation
Required:
  • Clear articulation and precise communication to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and has ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies: Snowflake, CodeBuild, DynamoDB.
  • Experience with JIRA, Git, GitHub.
  • Experience with SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong sense of self-motivation, organization, and attention to details.
Preferred:
  • BS or Higher in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Industry certification in AWS is a plus.
