Our client is growing their Application Support team and looking for a very high-level Sr. Web Application Support Engineer that will be responsible for the monitoring and implementation of the day-to-day activities required to run Tier-1 to Tier-3 applications within the company. This person will be handling the escalated technical support issues from the external customers of their global enterprise website. You also must be able to understand how technology works together to proactively monitor system performance and anticipate operational improvements while researching new automation and management technology.
  • 5+ years of Web Application Support for highly trafficked websites
  • 3+ years of work experience in a 24x7x365 production environment
  • Experience with formal problem-solving techniques, such as root cause analysis utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools to solve complex production and equipment problems
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, architecture, operations, security and monitoring concepts, technology and methodology
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL scripting or programming languages
  • Strong experience with Web technologies and the infrastructure needed to support web applications (e.g. reverse proxies, application load balancers, CDNs, networks, Layer 7 firewalls, TLS certs, web servers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of various DBMS technologies, both sql and nosql, with the ability to write and understand basic queries
Bonus/Soft Skills:
  • Experience with Windows and Linux administration
  • CMS Experience (they use Sitecore)
  • Experience with Cloud Watch, Cloud Formation (AWS)
  • Experience supporting Ecommerce, Travel, or Airline Websites
  • New Relic Monitoring Systems, TeaLeaf
  • Excellent partnering, communication, and negotiation skills to effectively serve as a lead liaison between business customers and technology development and support groups
  • History of providing leadership and coaching to a team
  • Dev/Ops, deployment environment
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of professional work experience and education
