Summer Intern – DevOps Engineer – Carmel, Indiana
As an Allegion DevOps Engineer, you will contribute meaningful work and make a direct impact to our Product Development team. As a junior member of our team, your primary responsibilities will include supporting your peers in maintaining our product infrastructure and improving automation to deliver services to our customers. You’ll be trained by seasoned DevOps engineers on systems administration and best practices. As a DevOps Intern in Product Development, you'll have an opportunity to get your hands dirty at all levels of our stack.

What You Will Do:
- Deepen your understanding of programming and scripting languages, such as Shell Script and Python.
- Deepen your understanding on DevOps, DevSecOps, Agile/Scrum.
- Experience working in Agile teams.
- Utilize tools such as functional block diagrams, flow diagrams, state-diagrams, and others as required in product development.
- Work with a team to produce well-rounded solutions.
- Participate in daily and other product team ceremonies.
- Obtain the experience to create a foundation for growth and future opportunities with Allegion
- Pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline, e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative, e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, leadership on school or work projects, etc.
- At least one class in Cloud Computing (Azure/AWS or GCP).
- Knowledge about different Operating Systems and different Databases.
- At least midlevel proficiency in one of the scripting languages. (Python, Shell Script)
- Basic understanding on virtualization, networking (OSI/TCP) and multitier architecture.
- Basic understanding in developing Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline (using Jenkins).
- Ability to work in both a team and individual setting.
- Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly.
- Effective listening, time management and creative problem-solving techniques
- A desire to learn, grow and develop by working on projects that will impact Allegion’s business and customers
