As a Phoenix System Administrator, you’ll be responsible for the installation, operations, and security of advanced information systems on Linux platforms. Phoenix will also mentor you in modern engineering technologies and practices such as Cloud Computing (e.g., AWS), Container Orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps Automation.

The Phoenix Boot Camp program will give you the technical skills, security clearance, and practical work experience to succeed in this industry. For qualified applicants, Phoenix will pay for a set of technical certifications, will sponsor you for a TOP SECRET security clearance, and will give you a full-time job as a paid Phoenix employee. Here’s how it works:

Phase 1: Getting into the Program
  • Apply to Phoenix Boot Camp and pass the multi-phase interview
  • Sign a contingent offer that identifies your required certifications
  • Apply for a TOP SECRET security clearance sponsored by Phoenix
Phase 2: Learning and Self-Study
  • Study at your leisure while working at another company (or not at all)
  • Collaborate with Phoenix engineers and access training resources
  • Pass the certification tests and get reimbursed by Phoenix
Phase 3: Working at Phoenix
  • Start work as a full-time Phoenix engineer with salary and benefits
  • Get on-the-job training while working alongside other Phoenix engineers
  • Obtain TOP SECRET security clearance and start work on government programs

Required Skills and Experience
  • Must be pursuing a degree in engineering, scientific or IT-related field
  • Must be at least a Junior or Senior in College (or have a completed degree)
  • Must have completed courses related to Computer Science
  • Must have a foundational knowledge of hardware, networking, and OS principles
  • Must be comfortable working in Linux environments
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Completed BS degree in engineering or IT-related field
  • Completed certifications in Linux (e.g., Red Hat System Administration)
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Qualifications
  • Per program standards, United States citizenship required
  • Must be willing to pursue and obtain a government security clearance
  • Must be willing to work on-site, not just telework from home
