The Technical Architect (Infrastructure Services) is responsible for leading the creation of a technology framework and providing technical subject matter expertise in support of LifePoint’s initiatives in cloud computing and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms. This position works across all areas within the IT organization and with business and clinical areas to understand technology needs and assists with choosing solutions that will make LifePoint successful. The position requires architectural leadership, best practices, and will be responsible for ensuring that critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability and disaster recovery.

- Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture with emphasis on Microsoft Azure implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, scalability, feasibility of migration from on-prem to cloud).
- Demonstrate knowledge of migration tools and processes
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for cloud architecture to the following Hyperscaler platforms: Microsoft Azure, Google, Amazon. VMware
- Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on LifePoint’s needs for applications to migrate to cloud services
- Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why,” and articulate several options the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation
- Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.
- Develop solutions architecture and evaluate alternatives for public and hybrid cloud usage models, including IaaS, PaaS, VMware AVS, and other cloud service overlays which adhere to LifePoint standards
- Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks
- Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications
- Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment
- Regular and reliable attendance.
