Job Description

You’ll be responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining a portfolio of courses targeted for the IT Operations and Developer audiences using the latest in open cloud technologies including Docker containers, Kubernetes orchestration, microservices, CI/CD, among others. You’ll also be keeping pace with emerging requirements from the product, customers, and partners to ensure all current training course content is up-to-date. You will work with a highly technical team that collaborates daily on activities but also enjoy a high degree of ownership over your curriculum portfolio.

Customer requirements and ongoing feedback is regularly captured, understood, and incorporated into our offerings.

Main Responsibilities:

Work closely with stakeholder teams to understand training content needs and build technically accurate content that meets the learning objectives of new and existing customers.

Collaborate with subject-matter experts to identify and research the requirements of role-based curriculums.

Identify gaps in existing course offerings and propose, design, and develop solutions.

Design and develop engaging courses, workshops, and other teaching resources for ILT, online, virtual and blended modalities.

Launch new training content and programs, as required.

Take a hands-on approach to learning relevant technologies and prevailing use cases.

Apply instructional design techniques, best practices, and adult learning theory including but not limited to learning objectives, scenarios, simulations, audio scripts, progress checks, performance evaluations, and knowledge assessments.

Drive multiple projects to completion in an environment with competing deadlines.

Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another format (usually from face-to-face to eLearning and virtual).

Revise, rewrite, and review course content for accuracy.

Upload, test, and maintain content to an LMS.

Measure impact, gather key success metrics, and report on findings and trends.

Qualifications

Comfortable with the Linux command line.

Proficient with CSS/HTML/reStructuredText, BASH scripting, and Git/GitHub for version control.

Well-versed with Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with designing self-paced, online learning experiences—tutorials, exercises, assessments, and other methods of learning including multimedia-based assets.

Prior experience developing highly technical courseware. An ideal candidate should be able to easily translate highly complex technical concepts into easily accessible language.

Familiarity with software application development or IT operations and enterprise container platform solutions.

Experience in optimizing training content experience, both written and visual, that serves to help users understand cloud native technologies more effectively.

Creative problem solver, customer advocate, a self-starter, and relationship builder.

Highly organized with an aptitude to find innovative solutions to learning challenges.

Strong sense of empathy for and ownership of the learner experience.

Demonstrated working knowledge of eLearning development tools such as Articulate Studio/Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, and virtual instructor-led training tools.

Experience working with geographically, distributed teams.

Work well in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

Excellent project / program management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of experience in a technical curriculum developer role or similar.

An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Education, Instructional Design, Technical Communications or a related discipline.

Prior teaching experience is a plus

Experience developing and supporting training for technical / IT related positions.

4+ years working in a fast-paced technical environment. Prior startup experience is preferred.

4+ years of Linux or Cloud Native systems administration or software development.
