In this newly created role, you will be accountable for owning all Clinical Technology operations for UnitedHealth Group across multiple platforms.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Partner with COOs and their teams to ensure technology is supporting business readiness
  • Ensure that technology infrastructure and operations technology strategy/plan is aligned to business objectives
  • Deploy, support and maintain technology solutions with excellent user experience
  • Ensure roadmaps are in place for systems migrations and associated business process changes
  • Own any/all change management roadmaps as users migrate to newer platforms
  • Serve as accountable owner of all Clinical Technology operational SLAs
  • Own infrastructure, ITSM process and reporting, enterprise monitoring solutions, incident and problem management, DevOps, hardware and software provisioning, technology procurement and operational best practice adoption
  • Drive and manage vendor partnerships to increase growth and scalability
  • Participate in the creation of multi-year capability planning and roadmaps
  • Provide leadership and manage about 15 global scrum teams, with a focus on talent management and employee engagement
  • Seeking new technology and methods to drive a continuous innovation culture
  • Proactively identify and implement efficiency improvements and technology advancements that deliver tangible return
  • Establish business continuity and disaster recovery procedures, processes and technology infrastructures to ensure availability targets
  • Collaborate with Security to monitor usage, identify potential threats/risks, and to mitigate all security exposures through immediate actions, proactive changes, and technology updates
  • Drive Agile best practices within Technology Operations and automation in all scenarios
  • Create and manage to a financial plan

Required Qualifications:
  • 15 + years of technology leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success leveraging technology to meet business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with executives and present to the C-Suite
  • Proven ability to establish effective working relationships with executives and key business partners to drive a change agenda
  • Specific experience explaining technology operations issues to executives in business terms
  • Previous experience leading Technology Operations teams supporting global business operations
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed environment
  • High level of emotional intelligence
  • Outstanding collaboration abilities
  • Strong influencing, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Track record of delivering business results

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experiences migrating 1000s of users to new platforms while ensuring business continuity
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, ITSM process and reporting, enterprise monitoring solutions, incident and problem management, hardware and software provisioning, technology procurement and/or operational best practice adoption
  • Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures, processes and technology infrastructures to ensure availability targets
  • Success driving a shift to a DevOps / Agile delivery model
  • Healthcare industry experiences
  • Experience leading software engineering teams
  • HIPAA data privacy and security knowledge

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado / Connecticut / Nevada residents is $169,500 to $322,500. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
