You will serve as a software developer on Agile Kanban team tasked with setting up an open architecture infrastructure and developing modern user interfaces to serve an emerging area of protecting USG space assets.

You must leverage data gathered from integration and system tests, i.e. system metrics and service telemetry, to classify and solve critical issues.

The Space Security Division within Lockheed Martin Space's Mission Solutions business area is seeking a dedicated software engineer interested in DevSecOps to join the Software Factory team in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:
  • Setup and maintenance of the DevSecOps infrastructure to include Gitlab, Nexus, AWS within multiple classification domains
  • Setup maintenance of the Kubernetes clusters (Docker and Rancher). Create and automate the deployment of containers into the cluster using Helm and Rancher
  • Support agile development teams by developing and maintaining tools, pipelines, scripts, and environments.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience with CI/CD - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools
  • Proficiency in application containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Rancher, etc.) in a cloud environment (AWS/Azure/Openstack/Openshift)
  • Development experience with any of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python
  • Development experience with Linux and shell scripting (e.g. bash, ash, ksh)
Desired skills
  • Familiarity with the Space Domain
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong team relationships and deliver exceptional results
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), OpenStack, Ansible

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
