As part of Optum, DocASAP is a patient access platform that matches the patient with the right provider, at the right time and right setting. The Engineering team plays a key role in defining and growing DocASAP's intelligent, market leading platform. You will play a significant part in supporting the transformation and scalability of our platform to meet the market needs. You will be supporting and driving the DocASAP SaaS capabilities.
The role entails working with developers to optimize the product release process, managing a fleet of servers and applications on AWS, and ensuring high availability.
The position needs an individual with a strong technical background who relishes complex problems, is an analytical thinker, and has a keen eye for details.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within United States as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Automate application deployment with zero downtime
  • Develop internal tools for application and infrastructure monitoring
  • Streamline server and application configuration management
  • Understand and proactively mitigate security threats
  • Implement monitoring for server and application metrics with real-time notifications based on severity levels
  • Research and make continuous improvements to the build and release process
  • Architect fault-tolerant, scalable, cost-optimized solutions to satisfy complex technical requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a dedicated DevOps role
  • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Chef, Ansible
  • 2+ years of experience in shell/python scripting and Git-based version control systems like Gitlab or Github
  • 1+ years of experience with Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • 1+ years of experience managing and automating large AWS deployments
  • Proficiency with Unix-based systems like CentOS and RedHat
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Solutions Architect/SysOps Certification Preferred
  • Experience with deployment and management of microservices
  • Understanding of networking concepts like VPN, load-balancing, NATs
  • Familiarity with distributed systems
  • Exposure on at least one programming/scripting language either Java, C, C++, Python, NodeJS, PHP, etc.

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000.
