Responsibilities:

• Supporting a large deployment for Elasticsearch and Splunk. Migrating a large amount of logging data and applications away from Splunk in to Elastic Search.
• Looking for someone who is very familiar with elastic search and be able to create and develop some of the tooling required to perform migration.
• Understand working “under the hood” with Elastic Search and a have a deep understanding of how you send the data between Elastic and Kafka and other ways to send data from Elastic Search
• Enabling & creating alerting and reporting on operational metrics with using Elastic Search / Kibana
• Setup and management of Elastic’s cross cluster search
• Storing and analyzing large scale data volumes, quickly solving mapping or parsing issues in a real time, working with different log shippers
• Scaling and Operation of a Kafka infrastructure for large data volumes for operational data ingest pipelines.
• Log aggregation across multiple data sources.

Requirements: This position is more on the operational side than development side

• Ability to work within the automation space and some scripting skills (Ansible, Go and / or Python)
• Must have experience with Elastic Stack and Kafka
• Strong skills managing Elastic Search, Logstash and Kibana, integrating data collection, visualization, analysis, logging and storage
• Excellent communication & written
• Working with code repositories GitHub

Preferred skills:

• Splunk or have migrated from Splunk to Elastic in the past
• ELK
• Ansible
