Job Description

This position is with F-35 Physical Maintenance Training Devices (PMTD), reporting to the Training & Logistics Systems segment in RMS Orlando. The selected candidate for this DevOps/software-focused position will perform a combination of systems engineering and software engineering roles for the PMTD Integrated Product Team (IPT). Activities will be executed in an Agile environment as part of the group's overall increment and sprint cadence.
As a Senior PMTD DevOps Engineer, the candidate will perform a variety of tasking to include:
· Work with Software Lead to understand tasking and then communicate with team to ensure coverage.
· Collaboratively work with the team to ensure all project-related tasking is assigned and understood. Will help younger engineers understand tasking and tools required to complete the work.
· Analyze work instruction changes and break down changes into workable tasks.
· Code any related software changes and perform testing required to qualify those changes.
· Work with IPT Lead to consolidate and report feature/story progress and completion.
· Support deployment efforts if required. Travel to US and potentially foreign sites to install software updates.

As a Senior PMTD DevOps Engineer, the individual will provide the following key activities:
· PMTD Hardware familiarity/experience - candidate should be familiar with hardware training devices, preference given to those with F-35 training devices.
· PMTD Software knowledge - candidate should be familiar with communications methods and messaging structure used on hardware training, using a combination of ethernet and 1553 communications protocol.
· Candidate should also understand middleware/firmware role, and drill down to code analysis where necessary to troubleshoot.
· Author, manage, and conduct technical reviews of code, related software documentation, and release documentation.
· Assist software lead in coordinating tasking among the team.

Basic Qualifications

· 4+ years' experience in full software life-cycle: design, build, install, integrate, test, and release/deploy.
· Significant experience troubleshooting integrated HW/SW systems, with Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) process familiarity.
· Experience with F-35 maintenance training devices (hardware preferred).
· Ability to prioritize and coordinate technical activities in support of project completion.
· Proficient communication skills, with ability to communicate across team and upwards to leadership.
· Experience using Atlassian tools suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Crucible).

Desired skills

· Ability to view execution at the top level. Product Owner or Lead experience a plus.
· Experience working in a full Agile environment.
· Experience working cross-discipline between systems, software, and hardware.
· Demonstrated ability to coordinate tasking across a mix of engineering skills.
· Experience estimating engineering hours.
· Experience identifying and managing risks/opportunities.

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
