Responsibility:
- The Research Systems Administrator works under supervision on all phases of system administration (i.e., Linux, AIX, Solaris, UNIX or Windows) to provide very technical expertise.
- Utilizes technologies for task automation, configuration maintenance, scripting, framework development, and database management. Implements and documents the security and integrity of the servers and systems, including security compliance.
- Many of these systems require continuous operation/high availability and 24 x 7 x 365 support. so, need to maintain flexible work schedule
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the building, configuration, operation, monitoring and maintenance of scripts and code.
- Providing problem resolution for Client's research storage systems as tier I support.
- Monitor servers and systems, using a combination of scripting and system management technologies, including application performance management and creation of custom monitors.
- Assist internal and external partners in monitoring, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers and systems.
- Monitor patches and updates for a subset of servers and systems with the latest operating system, application, and other security updates.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Business Systems, or related discipline. Combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- (1 - 2) year of systems analysis and administration (i.e., Linux, UNIX or Windows), scripting, or software development.
