Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple small, highly agile teams working to transform UHG's ability use its data to solve healthcare problems by addressing data findability, accessibility, and consumption problems impeding modern analytics and data science
- Provide senior technical leadership for teams complex engineering, business, and operational problems
- Work directly with Sr. Data Science, business unit, and other healthcare IT leaders to AI platform and advanced analytic transformation opportunities
- Partner with analytics, engineering, and business leaders to refine and tool practices for driving analytic model quality, sustainability, and reliability
- Drive strategic product and technology roadmaps to create solutions that enhance and grow our businesses
- Empower software delivery teams to rapidly deliver software through the use of automation and “everything-as-code” best practices
- Ensure application stability with dev-ops best practices for rapid problem triage and resolution
- Stay abreast of leading-edge technologies in the industry, evaluating emerging software technologies and evangelizing their adoption
- Be the technical decision maker to drive the portfolio toward modern best practices while meeting customer’s needs
- Drive practical delivery excellence through application of modern engineering, agile delivery, organizational, and leadership techniques

Required Qualifications:
- BS / BA in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated excellence in software engineering leadership
- 5+ years of agile software product delivery and management experience
- 3+ years of experience delivering software to a Public and/or Private cloud utilizing IaaS and/or PaaS cloud paradigms
- 5+ years of experience delivering or operating data platform products such as Cloud, complex data warehouses, data lakehouse, or other large scale analytic data solutions
- Proven record of software application delivery focusing on open source commodity solutions in a Public Cloud-based service platform
- Experience with software automation including test, deployment, database management, and operations automation
- Experience leading development using modern software engineering and product development practices such as Agile, Continuous Integration/Delivery, DevOps, and Model Operations
- A record of successful delivery of critical, high-visibility software products/programs in a managerial/leadership capacity
- Broad understanding of technology and how it is used to drive business growth and/or efficiencies
- Demonstrated ability to apply process, architecture and software engineering principles, methods and tools to solve Optum business challenges
- Experience successfully leading global delivery teams
- Prior experience leading delivery and operations of AI platforms in a Public Cloud environment
- Experience spanning product delivery, product management, and operations
- MBA or equivalent business experience
- Exceptional communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization including senior technology and business leader
- Results-oriented individual with solid coaching, decision making, influencing, mentoring, negotiation, problem solving and situational analysis skills
- Knowledge of Optum businesses, critical enterprise platforms, and their related analytic needs.
