Kforce's client, a growing technology company is seeking a Director of Software Engineering. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager on this search assignment. Overview: The Director of Software Engineering will be responsible for the functional disciplines of Embedded Software, Enterprise Software and Algorithms/Guidance Navigation & Controls development teams. The Director will not only be responsible for these software development teams, and their results, but also for establishing and enforcing rigorous development standards, release management, and processes unique to software development. The Director of Software Engineering will also work closely with our Product Development and Manufacturing teams to ensure the development and release process is focused on developing robust systems. - Director of Software Engineering will maintain world class development environment with all the tools, team members, and structure to build the world's leading UAV systems
- Drive innovation
- Lead functional software disciplines in developing releasing and maintaining software products
- As a Director of Software Engineering, you will oversee and enforce software release management and configuration management processes
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures that produce high quality software product
- Director of Software Engineering will manage 3rd party vendors and partners that augment our development environment and products
- Assist the Product & Engineering leadership team to develop and implement product strategy and roadmap
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or similar field
- A minimum of 7-10+ years demonstrated engineering experience in multidisciplinary product development
- At least 3-5+ years leadership experience managing technical teams
- Demonstrable understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) as well as the change management and configuration management processes
- Direct experience as a software developer at least previously
- Experience working in an agile development environment and being part of a highly integrated team collaborating with hardware and software engineering teams
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Experience with UAV platforms and/or flight control systems is a plus
- Experience in integrating complex RF electronic systems or aerospace systems and software is preferred
- Experience doing field work desired
- Experience managing the DevOps function is preferred
