Kforce has a client in search of an Engineering Technician I in Irvine, CA. Duties:
- Engineering Technician will work in the Company's Client Dev Ops Lab, which is responsible for validating Serial ATA hard drives
- Setup and maintain test equipment including PCs, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), Network Switches, KVMs and other specialized HDD test equipment
- Engineering Technicians perform operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment
- Responsible for setup, moving small lab equipment, and maintenance/support of HDD's (Hard Disk Drives)
- Hours can vary and are not consistent across the field; Certain projects may require off-site work, and deadlines may demand longer workdays
- High School diploma or GED required
- AA or higher in IT, Electronics or Engineering preferred, but not required
- Hands on experience with PC hardware and components
- Familiar with Windows and Linux (basic knowledge as a user) environment
- Must possess strong analytical skills and have an eye for detail, as well as be able to act decisively and independently when circumstances warrant it
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge/familiarity with UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) devices/apparatuses
- Knowledge/familiarity with ATA's/IDE's (Advanced Technology Attachment: ATA a physical interface for connecting storage devices within a computer allowing hard drives/disks and CD-ROMS to be internally connected to the motherboard to perform basic input/output functions); IDE's are Integrated Device Electronics
- Serial ATA knowledge/familiarity
- Knowledge/familiarity w/basic DevOps
- Linux experience
