As a DevOps Engineer you will work in an agile, collaborative environment to build, configure, and maintain systems, which may include software installations, updates, and core services. You will cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing and operations teams and keep existing networks in mind as they design, plan and test.

The IBM Cloud team has an available opening for an early professional DevOps engineer who will bring best of class skills to create and maintain an enterprise offering that delivers the entire IBM Cloud Console user interface. Ours is a very tight knit team who share a passion for creating software that is so simple there would be no reason to do it any other way. We build things that scale and requires very little day to day maintenance. - Work with development teams to enable a continuous integration environment that sustains high productivity levels and emphasizes defect prevention techniques.
- Design and develop industry impacting services using open source and commercial technologies at scale
- Manage and allocate tools, accelerators, frameworks, templates and other assets related to engineering productivity and quality that enable service delivery
- Foster an environment that enables teams to do things correctly, quickly, consistently and with less effort and learning.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Working knowledge of NodeJS, GitHub, python, or Java.
- Experience with Linux.
- Strong communication skills.
- Computer Science Degree
- Agile development.
- We believe in automating everything, and the expectation is to create automated/automatable solutions.
- Caching is a key skill in the cloud, and a strong candidate will exhibit exceptional skills with local and edge caching solutions.
- The ability to debug web based solutions on both client and server sides.
- Having hands on experience with designing and developing microservices is also preferred.
- The ability to create solutions to serve an enterprise environment.
- Exposure or hands on experience with SOC2, PCI, Financial Services, FedRAMP, and HIPPA compliance.
- Knowledge of scaling under load.
- Ability to do performance measurement and tuning.
- Skill at creating reliable and highly available software.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment and remediation.
- Having developed solutions and/or managed them in Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting.
- Skill with content delivery network (CDN) services.
- Familiarity with Jenkins as build driving a full unit test, build verification, and production code delivery pipeline.
- Knowledge of IBM Cloud.
- Candidate would be expected to self-starting and self-motivating.
- A security minded individual is needed.
- Skill with RedHat OpenShift.
- Ability to stand up and configure software solutions in a cloud environment.
- Some docker/container exposure.
- Kubernetes knowledge.
- Grafana skills
