Specific skill in SOAP or RESTful web service development with generalized skill in back-end development is necessary. It is expected that you will be able to demonstrate the ability to dynamically adapt to the technology stack called out by the project requirements and must show commitment to meet deadlines and goals.

Analysts is seeking an experienced Web Service developer with Ruby on Rails to join our customer’s API development team focused on e-Commerce and other web-facing apps. Specific skill in SOAP or RESTful web service development with generalized skill in back-end development is necessary. It is expected that you will be able to demonstrate the ability to dynamically adapt to the technology stack called out by the project requirements and must show commitment to meet deadlines and goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Will work with customer Ruby-on-Rails to support e-Commerce ordering systems as well as other web based client-service applications.
- Will help team upgrade system from Ruby 2.x to 6.1.
Will implement robust APIs and services using techniques such as SOAP or RESTful. - Will utilize data caching experience using tools like Memchached or Redis. Incumbent database is MariaDB.
- Backend development with Ruby and Python as well as other back end languages such as PHP, Java or JavaScript.
Creation of reusable libraries from advanced JS, HTML5/CSS code base, and frameworks such as AngularJS or KnockoutJS. - Client side scripting using jQuery framework with JavaScript.
- Application optimization using content management systems (CMS) such as Drupal, WordPress, Adobe Experience Manager, etc
Will need to be able to build high-performing, multi-platform applications and robust APIs using strong development practices that take into account security and data protection, scalability, as well as future data migration and transformation - Will translate UI/UX wireframes to visual elements using HTML5/CSS or other image authoring tools such as PhotoShop.
- Utilize Sitecore to replace existing static web content.
- Support existing Asp.Net MVC 5.2x apps with Angular front ends
- Develop smaller ASP.Net MVC Core using newest Angular 11 front end to replace outdated solutions.
Will exercise proficiency with developer tools such as DevOps, Git, or Team Foundation Server (TFS). - Will work on an Agile Scrum team and will play a key role in design, development, implementation, and testing of web services and APIs.
Builds credibility and rapport with team and customers. Works effectively through planning, conflict resolution, and problem solving. - Validates that the developed solution to ensure it satisfies the stated requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 6 years of web development experience, particularly APIs
- Experience with web service development using REST and SOAP.
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, or Ruby for back end development.
- Experience with Angular front end development.
- Proficiency in Python front and back end
- Proficiency with Python Flask/Django frameworks
- Proficiency with HTML/CSS/JavaScript/JQuery
- Experience developing SQL queries
- Must have proven experience working on strong and observant Agile/Scrum teams.
