We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator / DevOps Engineer to join our team. This is not an on call position, and you can expect to have a normal business hours-type working schedule. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus.
Essential Job Functions:
In this role, you could expect to perform as the Linux System Administrator (CentOS 7/RHEL 7) for a DOD cloud project: Lead and perform all system administration tasks in cloud-based environment; Building, installing, and configuring software from source code and pre-built packages; Debugging installation/configuration issues; Maintaining the security posture of the system; Implement STIGs; Test and deploy security updates, and software/OS patches; Shell scripting; QA testing of cloud instantiations; and write technical documentation, including the use of UML/SysML.
Requirements:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
BS degree in computer engineering, computer science, systems engineering, or related technical discipline and at least 5 years of related experience. (We have multiple levels associated with this opportunity. Candidates with advanced degrees or varying experience may be considered for alternative classification.)
Applicants will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: Active TS/SCI clearance or “TS/SCI eligible” required.
Security+ Certification (CISSP or CISM highly desirable).
Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Experience setting up, configuring, and securing Linux-based cloud infrastructure.
Strong interpersonal and customer interaction skills.
Ability to integrate with other teams and organizations.
Ability to develop a highly effective working relationship with managers and customers.
While not firm requirements, the following skills or experience would be a key differentiator:
Understanding of the use and administration of MySQL/Postgresql
Using Atlassian Tools (Jira/Confluence) for agile development and task assignment/tracking
Installing, configuring, maintaining, and using ACASS/HBSS for maintaining security posture of servers
Software development or scripting using Python, Perl, BASH/Shell, Java, or Golang.
