PLCB is looking to bring two Java Developers to help with development work on an upgrade to an Oracle ERP system. They'll be performing needed analysis, design, development and implementation of components for the agency's Oracle ERP upgrade.

FYI the work schedule is typically 8:30 AM to 5 PM Monday to Friday. There may be the need for some hours over weekends based on deadlines. The agency will have to set up equipment as well as get CWOPA and VPN accesses. Work location would be remote. For the most part all of PLCB IT are teleworking since the COVID pandemic started.
Position Purpose:
This position provides a highly advanced technical work in the customization and maintenance of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and other inter-related systems, which includes E-Commerce front-end integrations, and support of existing Java-based applications, mainly pertaining to the ORACLE IBMS custom applications, interfaces, extensions, and POS based applications as required.
This position is responsible for the analysis, design, planning, development, testing, maintenance, and documentation of significant components of the ERP and inter-related systems. Work includes application development responsibility for the ERP objects (reports, interfaces, custom program development, extensions, workflows and web services) development for one or more subsystems of a major application module. Work involves analyzing detailed functional specifications, developing detailed technical specifications, developing customizations or workflow applications, identifying data migration and interface requirements, developing unit test plans and documenting test results, supporting update / upgrade activity of ERP software, or special project development work as assigned. The incumbent also generates or updates technical and business functional documents, system documents, and assist in creating training and testing documents.
The position requires 5 years or more of full-time development work experience with Java programming and Java EE applications Development, the use of SOAP/WSDL, RESTful web services with an XML markup format (XML, XSD, XSLT), and experience with Java Message Service (JMS), Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) API and Oracle databases utilizing PL/SQL packages.
A good knowledge with web technologies including, but not limited to JavaScript, HTML and CSS, as well as writing Java code using both in an application program, a familiarity with WebLogic Application deployment and configuration, are also required.
Any experience with Oracle ERP products, Oracle Application Framework (OAF) and/or Application Development Framework (ADF), a knowledge of Oracle databases as well as AJAX/Asynchronous development concept, is a plus.
The incumbent will use Eclipse based development tools and follow the VSTS/DEVOPS process that is used by the Agency.
The Developer will work under the guidance of PLCB IT Managers to gather requirements, design, code, test, and implement their code.
