Basic Purpose

Technology Product Management partners with business and technology stakeholders to define and execute the technology product vision from ideation to implementation in alignment with enterprise strategy. Technology Product Management supports all business units across the enterprise on their product development efforts to deliver meaningful, desirable new features to our members and employees to gain and retain a competitive advantage. The Sr. Technology Product Analyst (TPA) is an effective leader, problem solver and communicator responsible for supporting a product portfolio and leading a team of analysts. The Sr. TPA collaborates with technical and business product owners, defines product success criteria, and aligns features to the product roadmap. The Sr. TPA will work with the product team to research, analyze, and define functional and non-functional product requirements using effective requirements analysis techniques.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with business and technology product stakeholders to understand business requirements, define product success criteria, and align features to the product roadmap and strategic initiatives
  • Provide dedicated support to assigned product portfolio responsible for continuous refinement and prioritization of the product backlog consisting of Themes, Epics, Features, Product Backlog Items including Non-Functional Requirements, Tasks, Defects, etc.
  • Lead a team of entry and mid-level TPAs for a dedicated product portfolio or product ensuring appropriate alignment of team member assignments
  • Research, analyze, and define functional and non-functional product requirements conforming to established standards and leveraging effective requirements analysis techniques including requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, use case analysis, scenarios, story boards, surveys, data analysis, competitive research, etc.
  • Present requirements through alternative views including analysis models, prototypes, or scenarios to facilitate communication of requirements with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Technology Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and/or Release Train Engineers (RTE) to organize product backlog items into iterations based on prioritization and alignment to product roadmap MVPs
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to understand platform and application features and capabilities
  • Participate in third-party vendor evaluation and selection (e.g. RFP)
  • Identify and lead broad-impact practice improvements focused on improving quality, efficiency, and business value.
  • Provide mentorship to entry and mid-level TPAs in strength areas to develop team capabilities and knowledge.
  • Remain current on trends in the technology and financial services industries.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 12+ years as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Systems Analyst, Requirements Analyst, or other related role
  • Ability to transform complex requirements into digital and technology solutions leveraging research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with little direction
  • Experience in the implementation of platforms, applications, and services on cloud computing platforms (e.g. MS Azure) including legacy on-prem to cloud migrations
  • Experience with application development platforms including low-code and no-code platforms (e.g. Pega, PowerApps, Adobe Experience, Salesforce, MS Dynamics, Java, etc.)
  • Experience in technology currency, technology improvement, and technology remediation practices
  • Advanced skill in performing detailed technology assessments
  • Advanced skill in data querying, data analysis, and data mapping
  • Advanced knowledge of information security best practices
  • Expert knowledge of Agile frameworks and practices (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Expert knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle
  • Expert skill in use of MS Office tools including Excel for data analysis/visualization and Visio for producing diagrams (e.g. process flow, context diagram, etc.)
  • Expert skill in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication with ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Expert skill in developing and delivering effective presentations
  • Expert skill in organizational, planning, and time management
  • Expert skill in relationship building, negotiation, and facilitation
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and good judgement to make sound decisions
  • Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working in the Financial Services industry with a working knowledge of industry standards and practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps and Atlassian Jira
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

External salary range: $98,600 - $139,400

*Due to COVID-19 and social distancing, this position will be temporarily working from home with plans to return to campus at the desired location listed once Navy Federal is back to normal operations. The specific logistics for returning to campus will be determined at a future date by individual leadership*
