Software Engineer III

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Finance Product Technology – Efficiency Apps Software Engineer III is responsible for supporting and leading aspects of all verticals of the software delivery life cycle for solutions the team delivers. This team is focused on identifying and providing mid-level technical solutions focused on automating manual tasks, delivering more efficient business processes, and fully utilizing Microsoft / Azure technology and tools to improve the overall user experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Relationships Serve as a solutions liaison between various Robert Half departments. Communicates with impacted and interested group. Ensure a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers. Supports teamwork and solicits input from internal and external clients on processes, procedures, technology.
Designs & Develops large and complex modules and components of larger system designs. Completely designs and develops low to medium complexity systems. Able to code and configure effectively on any component within an end-to-end system (db, middleware, UI/UX), full stack development.
Requirements
• Reviews, analyzes and refines business requests and ad-hoc requirements, formulating system solutions that align with business strategies.
• Consults with various subject matter experts from the business to translate their needs into business requirement documents that can be presented to management, customers, development teams and vendors.
• Considers impact to current and future business environments and processes, assessing upstream & downstream effect of system and reporting changes
Testing
• Develop test plans associated with a variety of projects. The plans should include use cases, cross-team coordination requirements, data requirements, scenarios, timing considerations and expected results
• Performs unit test execution.
• Coordinate, monitor and support the activities of cross functional groups involved in the user acceptance testing
• Perform intake of issues, validate and coordinate for bug fix and retest
• Support, coordinate and/or facilitate the training of users
Production Support
• Provide support, including researching and resolving production issues in accordance with established service levels.
• Troubleshoot issues by performing data analysis, database level SQL queries, and researching coded functionality.
• Support production fix process inclusive of issue tracking, test planning, support, execution, business approval and deployment.
Project Management
• Manages multiple small to mid-size projects as assigned.
• Develop and/or maintain project plans, status reports and other materials required to track and monitor the progress of assigned projects.
• Communicate with all parties directly involved or affected by assigned deliverables.
• Prepares detailed documentation throughout projects and assignments to keep management and stakeholders apprised of status/progress.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree in business, accounting, finance, MIS or equivalent work experience
- Experience working with large ERP applications such as Workday, PeopleSoft is desired.
- 6+ years demonstrated experience in business systems analysis & design.
- 3+ years of ERP requirements, design, testing and implementation experience with one or more of the following functional areas: Payroll, Benefits (Ben Admin), HR, Time & Labor, Billing, AR.
- 5+ years experience with a programming or scripting language (e.g. c#, Java, JavaScript, SQL)
- 5+ years experience writing/modifying programs for a small to mid-size application
- 5+ years experience administering and/or configuring an application
- In depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows applications, Microsoft Office including: MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Power Point.
- Experience with reporting tools such as MS Access and Microsoft Project or Smartsheet is desired.
- Basic understanding of XML/JSON interfaces and Web Services
- Database Administration (required)
- Advanced SQL, C#, ASP.NET / Net Core Web, HTML, Java, JavaScript (required)
- API / Web Service, Postman or similar (preferred)
- DevOps +, DevExpress + (preferred)
- Azure + (Data Factory, Function Apps, App Services) (preferred)
- Office 365 Technology Platform (preferred)
- Good knowledge on software delivery lifecycle (SDLC).
- Excellent organizational, analytical and time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify solutions to problems, listen actively, exercise sound judgment to make decisions.
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships, work independently and with others.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with Workday EIBs (preferred)
- RPA Experience is desired
