Immediate need for a Cloud Storage and Backup Engineer with Google Cloud Platform experience and Strong Terraform and CI/CD background.
This position is a 12+ month contract and is 100% remote (must work East Coast hours).
Our client is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer focusing on storage and backups, you will design and maintain storage for our platforms in the cloud. Ensure data is backed up and accessible, optimize data performance, and drive BCDR tasks related to data recovery. This individual would have a passion for scripting and automating all tasks with the love for documentation to help the broader teams understand current and future state.
Coach infrastructure and development teams on current and emerging storage options/solutions.
Integrate storage and backups into our CICD pipelines.
Create and manage backup schedules, retention policies.
Develop and test recovery strategies across cloud regions.
Troubleshoot stability and performance issues.
Participate in one of our 24x7 on-call rotations.
Monitor backup success and performance.
Establish, and regularly report on, Backup and Restore SLAs.
Manage encryption, and security (including physical) for all storage platforms.
Implement monitoring and alerting of storage and backups.
Work with business and application owners to understand storage amount, performance, and availability needs.
Develop automation processes, architecture deployments, platform support and maintenance activities using Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipeline, and DevOps best practices
