Experis is looking for a Sr. Systems Administrator/Engineer that will design, configure, and manage the companys messaging, compute, storage, and cloud infrastructure,looking for AWS experience as this will be implemented down the road as well as the tools used to support that infrastructure. The ideal individual will serve as a primary resource in migrating on premise applications and systems to cloud based infrastructure. They will help continue the organizations move towards a DevOps style of system administration in which scripting and automation are foundational. The incumbent will also be responsible for the ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and support of that infrastructure.
Requirements:
Evaluate, select, and implement technologies to standardize and automate the implementation and configuration of systems.
Serve as technical specialist to troubleshoot and resolve system problems and emergencies.
Evaluate, install, upgrade, configure, and maintain various server environments.
Serve as technical specialist for cloud infrastructure, platforms, services (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Office365).
Migrate systems and applications to SaaS, PaaS and IaaS cloud providers.
Analysis and optimization of on premises and cloud workloads.
Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and applications logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
Monitor security to identify any possibly incidents or intrusions.
Install new software releases, perform systems upgrades, evaluate and install patches.
Perform daily back-up operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and that media is properly managed.
Own end-to-end delivery of certain technology projects including managing scope, quality, and schedule.
Implement, maintain, and test disaster recovery for corporate computing environment.
Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment and/or systems.
Perform after hours changes, as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Strong knowledge of Windows server configuration and management.
Strong knowledge of one or more enterprise systems management tools (e.g. SCCM, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, and Salt).
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services, DNS, and DHCP.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Office365, Exchange Online and Intune Mobile Device Management.
Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services, specifically IAM, EC2, S3, Glacier, EBS, EFS, VPC, Direct Connect, Route 53, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Config, Trusted Advisor, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
Experience with migrating on premises applications to SaaS, PaaS or IaaS environments.
Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Python, JS).
Strong knowledge of file systems and file system management (e.g. CIFS/SMB, NFS).
Strong technical troubleshooting and resolution skills.
Strong knowledge of DevOps concepts (automation, agile, continuous integration/continuous deployment, infrastructure as code, cross functional product teams) and tools (Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Git, Bamboo, Jira).
Knowledge of Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop remote access technology.
Knowledge of Linux server configuration and management including common management tools (e.g. Satellite, YUM, and Chef).
Knowledge of VMWare, vSphere, vCenter, and ESX.
Knowledge of server security practices and technologies and their potential impacts.
Highly developed verbal and written communications skills. Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical people.
Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to administer a 300+ node environment.
