Responsibilities for the Systems/Network Engineer:
- Will be responsible for the administering of complex networks for the organization
- Will ensure the operation of the systems, including routers, switches and servers
- Provide technical support to users in regards to network, servers and system applications
- Responsible for creating and maintaining documentation as it relates to systems and network operations, network mapping, processes and service records
- Support servers systems, operating systems, server backups, and routine maintenance of programs
- Will participate in network and system design
- Support VOIP and other telecommunication systems
- Responsible for installing, connecting and supporting network cable systems
- Responsible for help desk request
- Responsible for on call after-hours support for network and system operations
- Will administer HP, Dell and Cisco Servers
- Supporting of data center operations
- BA/BSin Computer Science, Information Technology are highly desired
- CCNA R/S (CCNP R/S Preferred) or MCSA (MCSE Preferred) or VCP
- 4+ years of experience administering complex networks
- Experience supporting technical environments of 500+ end-users
- Experience supporting academic, educational environments highly desired
- Must be proficient in the following network infrastructures: TCP/IP, OSI, SSL, VPN, routing (OSPF, EIGRP) and switching protocols
- Strong understanding and knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, IIS and SMTP
- Experience supporting virtual environments (MS HyperV or Vmware)
- Experience with the configuration of Cisco Systems and/or HP switches/routers CLi
- Experience with Aruba or other enterprise wireless technologies
- Must have excellent communication skills and excellent troubleshooting skills
