Purpose and Scope:
Medline Industries, Inc. has an opening for an IT manager located in Mundelein, IL. Enabling our workforce through effective use of technologies and platforms is essential to keep up with Medline%26rsquo;s aggressive growth. Medline is looking for a strong candidate to lead our UI / Mobile Software Development teams. The Manager will combine strong technical experience with business acumen to facilitate the most effective development of business solutions. The Manager will provide guidance to technical teams during support, development, and solution delivery. The Manager will work closely with business, architecture, and technical teams to determine staffing needs, assign resources as required, and ensure the successful completion of projects with the highest quality and standards applied for both cloud and non-cloud applications. The Manager will be responsible for enabling the continued career development of the team and ensure the team is positioned to support new technologies and development approaches as necessary. The Manager will be seen as the %26ldquo;practice leader%26rdquo; for UI/Mobile Development at Medline.
Responsibilities:
%26bull; Coach and mentor team members to enable personal and professional growth
%26bull; Provide technical leadership to UI Development teams
%26bull; Promote a positive culture of engagement, collaboration, professionalism, and accountability
%26bull; Manage all facets of staffing, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, supervision, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions
%26bull; Ensure the team delivers on commitments with quality and efficiency
%26bull; Work closely with other Medline teams, both local and remote, to establish a global vision for UI application development, ensuring work is completed using an efficient, cost-effective model
%26bull; Curate an agile, responsive work environment that delivers software while balancing time, cost, and scope
%26bull; Collaborate with other leaders to define solutions, best practices, and architectural patterns
%26bull; Support robust change and configuration management practices
%26bull; Assist in managing relationships with technology vendors and service integrators
%26bull; Support the development of business cases, justifications and cost-benefit analysis for IS spend
%26bull; Define and promote digital workplace initiatives that enable an information driven work environment to enhance productivity and capability of the workforce
%26bull; Oversee and support solutions which ensure security, availability, and risk management
%26bull; Manage programs and projects as necessary to ensure timely and successful delivery
%26bull; Research and recommend investment, development, installation, and use of technology improvements
%26bull; Advocate effectively for the needs of the software development team
%26bull; Promote department-wide initiatives related to system availability and resiliency
%26bull; Promote company-wide core values such as diverse hiring practices
%26bull; Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary for the role

Qualifications:

%26bull; Bachelor%26rsquo;s Degree in Computer Science or related, or equivalent work related experience
%26bull; 10+ years working in IT delivering applications and solutions to business users
%26bull; 2+ years successfully leading development teams
%26bull; Proven success in performing requirements elicitation, process definition, and solution execution
%26bull; Strong background in object oriented software development
%26bull; Clear understanding of modern front-end software development, including single-page application architecture, micro services
%26bull; Experience with diverse application development practices, including both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
%26bull; Strong understanding of DevOps processes and tooling
%26bull; Strong prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills
%26bull; Able to guide and influence both business users and technical users
%26bull; Excellent verbal and written communication skills
%26bull; Ability to work effectively with and influence senior management
%26bull; Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
%26bull; Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting
